My name is Jaap Nienhuis, I am a postdoctoral fellow in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Tulane University working with Torbjörn Törnqvist on modern and past Mississippi delta change.

My research interests are in coastal engineering and geomorphology, in particular numerical models of waves, tides, and sediment transport. I recently obtained my PhD from the MIT-WHOI Joint Program working on river mouths, tidal inlets and deltas.

I can also be found on Google Scholar and ResearchGate.
